Hi folks,
I hope you’ve been enjoying your Summer, and getting in lots of fun sensory experiences! I’m going to keep this very brief, and encourage you to reach out with your questions.
Here are the next steps to join in the transition to imeetswe:
- Visit https://imeetswe.com and peruse the range of activities and environments offered for the upcoming season. Subscribe to the mailing list in the right sidebar. This list will be for announcements related to events, classes, workshops, groups, and consulting. That list will replace the EBCMP list, so please make the transition if you’d like to come along–we won’t make that choice for you.
- Consider helping get a class going in your neighborhood by filling out the survey: https://www.imeetswe.com/register/ Space has gotten more and more difficult to come by in the East Bay, so it really helps if you can connect us with spaces you’ve felt safe in.
- Visit https://imeetswe.team to find out how to support the team that’s needed to make this transition happen, and consider joining the team. You can subscribe to that list separately if you’d like, and if you are considering getting involved in a supportive way, definitely join that list. They are separate to reduce noise for folks that want to connect in one way or the other. And please consider making a donation. There are several options for how you can direct your support.
- Visit https://imeetswe.blog and consider subscribing there to receive engaging and thoughtful reflections from a person on the autism spectrum who happens to be a language processing specialist. Language repeats and reverberates in my being, and it is the way I resolve the world. As I have been awakening to my own sensory and cognitive gifts, I’ve been connecting with others in this space, and I believe I have some interesting and helpful things to share, especially around reframing language around sensory, cognitive, and behavioral differences. It will hopefully help make sense of the ways that imeetswe’s programs and activities are framed.
- Please share these links far and wide. I will continue to send to the EBCMP list for the upcoming year, but in September I’ll go ahead and close that list for good, so please do subscribe.
There was a time that EBCMP didn’t exist, and then it existed because people found the idea relevant and the experiences pleasant. Here’s hoping that imeetswe with emerge and experience a similar arc. It’s up to people to find it.
Thanks for staying connected! I’ll give you an update soon on the team side of things. Good luck as you’re getting ready to plug back into your academic environments.
Warmly,
Ryk
